Company History

The Team

Rainforest Reptile Shows is a family business established in 1993. It was founded by Joan Gallagher and Michael Ralbovsky to educate and entertain people of all ages. The Rainforest Team provides fun, interactive, custom-tailored programs featuring live animals from around the world! Each program contains detailed information about the animals including their habitats, defense mechanisms, and natural diets. These programs are offered for both public and private events from birthday parties to college lectures.

Before Rainforest Reptile Shows, Michael worked as the Operations Manager of the St. Augustine Alligator Farm in Florida. There, he worked with one of the largest crocodiles in captivity. He became one of only a few people in the world who has worked with all 23 species of crocodilians! He also specializes in venomous snakes, large snakes , lizards and turtles. After meeting Joan, he decided to move to Massachusetts to share his life with her and they have dedicated their lives to inspiring a passion for reptiles in people of all ages. But it didn’t stop there! With such a rare expertise, Michael and Joan developed a training program to teach law enforcement agencies on how to handle many of these reptiles. This extensive course prepares law enforcement officers for real life scenarios where a reptile could be potentially harmful to the public. This program has now grown internationally.

In addition to the shows and training, Rainforest Reptile Shows provides animals for television shows, movies, and commercials. The Rainforest Team has been fortunate enough to work alongside fellow animal lovers such as Jeff Corwin, Katie Kuric, Conan O’Brien, Jack Hanna, Kelly Ripa, Dominic Monaghan and many others. There are many zoos, aquariums, and museums throughout the country that the Rainforest Team also works with by providing animals and offering consultation services. Additionally, the Rainforest Team is a group of people dedicated to philanthropy. Services have been proudly provided for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the Jimmy Fund, and ALS One.

<span”>Rainforest Reptile Shows is a well rounded company, but the passion for animals continues to grow. Today, the Rainforest Team has established RRS OASIS a (501)(c)(3) to house over 600 animals! Many of these animals were surrendered, confiscated, seized, or abandoned. These snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodilians, bugs, and amphibians will live the rest of their lives in the safe and healthy environment with the professionals at RRS OASIS and the Rainforest Reptile Shows Team.
